Earth Explorers
When and where do we meet?
Mighty Trees Earth Explorers meets on Monday afternoons at 1:30 pm and classes end between 2:30-2:45 pm. Classes are held at Archer Lodge Town Park in Clayton, NC.
The Fall 1 session will be 8 weeks; starting on September 15, 2025 and ending on November 3, 2025. The life skill theme is Focus and the geography focus is North Carolina.
The Fall 2 session will be 6 weeks; starting on November 17, 2025 and ending on December 22, 2025. The life skill theme is Communication and the geography focus is the United States.
The Winter session will be 8 weeks; starting on January 5, 2026 and ending on February 23, 2026. The life skill theme is Persistence and the geography focus is Canada.
The Spring session will be 8 weeks; starting on March 9, 2026 and ending on May 4, 2026 (with no class on April 6 due to Easter break). The life skill is TBD and the geography focus is the World.
What DOES a class look like?
Each session has a life-skill based theme. We will start our time each week by getting clues about and guessing who our ‘featured creature’ for the day is. After that, we will dive into learning more details about what geographic area they live in, specifics about their habitat, what they eat, etc. To reinforce some of the things we’ll learn about, we’ll spend the remainder of our class time completing a nature based challenge, activity, and/or craft related to the ‘featured creature!‘ As a Christian co-op, emphasis on God’s creation and care for living things will be brought up during lessons.
